DAY 1: Arrive at Entebbe international Airport.
On arrival you will be warmly welcomed to the pearl of Africa by our company guide/driver representative who will transfer you to your hotel for a night.
DAY 2: Transfer to Murchison falls national park.
Early in the morning we depart to Murchison falls national park with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary purposely for Rhino Tracking.
Upon arrival you will be briefed by a ranger guide before taking the trek to the Rhinos. The activity takes 2-3 hours depending on the rhino location. Later we transfer to Murchison falls national park.
DAY 3. Birding, game drive and boat cruise in Murchison falls national park.
Early morning breakfast, then go birding on a game drive. We will look out different species of birds such as the; Secretary Bird, Red-necked Falcon, Red-throated bee eaters, Swallow-tailed bee eater, White-breasted Cuckoo-shrike, White-fronted black chat, Abyssian Ground hornbill, Black-billed Barbet, Brown-backed Woodpecker, Spotted Morning Thrust, Bronze-tailed Starlings, Northern Red Bishop, Red-winged Pytilia a mention but a few.
Later in the afternoon we shall take a boat to the delta in search of many water birds. While on the boat, we will look out for; Pink-backed Pelicans,, Black Crake, African Crake, Black-crowned Crane, Egyptian goose, Spur-winged Goose, Saddle-billed stork, Open-billed stork, Woolly-necked, the Little and Dwarf Bitterns, Night Heron, Black Heron, Goliath Heron, Purple Heron, Green Backed Heron, Common Squacco Heron, Great and Long-tailed Cormorants, the African and Eurasian Spoonbills, African Fin foot, Painted Snipe and many more.
DAY 4. Transfer to Kibale forest National Park.
Today we start our journey to Kibale National Park which is home to over 300 different bird species which include the Green breasted Pitta. This is a long drive but there are a few good birding spots along the way. Expect to see bird species like; sunbirds, Sparrow Weaver, Buff-bellied Warbler, and Long crested eagle.
DAY 5: Birding Kibale forest National Park.
We will start birding early morning when the birds are active and beginning to feed. One of our key species for the today will be the Green breasted Pitta, other bird species include the bronze-napped Pigeon, White-headed Wood hoopoe, Yellow-spotted barbet, Great blue Turaco.
In the afternoon, we join other teams for chimpanzee tracking experiences. This will be time of finding the chimpanzee on their afternoon feeding session after a brief rest from the morning feeding. The activity takes 2-3 hours.
DAY 6: Birding Bigodi wetland and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After our breakfast we shall drive to Bigodi wetland for a nature walk and birding experience.
After the activity you will prepare to set off to Queen Elizabeth national park which is home to over 600 bird species.
DAY 7. Morning Game drive, Boat cruise/ Birding on the Kazinga Channel.
Wake up early in the morning for a game drive on the Kasenyi plains in search of different bird species such as the cattle egret, Egyptian goose, mourning dove and later in the afternoon we go for the boat cruise on the kazinga channel in search for water birds such as the African fish eagle, African Skimmer, Malachite Kingfishers, Grey-headed Kingfisher, Martial Eagle Great and Long tailed Cormorants, African Skimmers Great white and Pink-backed Pelicans, African Open-billed Stork, etc.
DAY 8. Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Early morning we drive towards southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, we shall have several birding stops through the Ishasha sector arriving in the park later in the evening.
DAY 9. Gorilla tracking and Birding in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After our Breakfast we shall report to the park headquarters for a short briefing for the ones who will be interested in tracking the gorillas and the rest will be birding along the water fall trial in search of different bird species such as the Yellow-bellied Waxbill, Thick-billed Seedeater, Streaky Seedeater, the African Broadbill, Mountain Buzzard, Black-billed Turaco, Barred Long-tailed Cuckoo, Bar-tailed Trogon, Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater, (Western) Bronze-napped Pigeon, Red-chested Owlet, Tullberg’s Woodpecker, Grey Cuckoo-shrike, Olive Trush, Red-faced Woodland Warbler to mention but a few.
DAY 10. Transfer and Birding Ruhija sector Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Early in the Morning after our breakfast, we shall begin our journey to ruhija. The transfer will take us through various landscapes with a nice looking vegetation of tea platations and forests which will give clients an opportunity to sight a number of different bird species.
DAY 11. Birding Ruhija sector Bwindi Impenetrable National park.
After our breakfast in the Morning we shall begin our birding activity in which Ruhija which is the best place to bird for most of the Albertine rift endemics expect to see the, Grauer’s broadbill, African Hill babbler, Shelley’s Augur Buzzard, etc.
DAY 12. Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
Today, we drive to Lake Mburo National Park. You will have several birding stops along the way before arriving at your lodge. Depending on your arrival time, you will check in to your lodge and later do an evening bird watching as you enjoy the great views surrounding the lodge.
DAY 13: Birding in Lake Mburo National Park.
An early breakfast as we begin our birding activity in the savannah vegetation to look out for include the; White-headed and Black-billed Barbet, Shining-blue Kingfishers, African-grey Hornbill, Grey Woodpeckers, Rufous-chested Swallow, Bishop, Chubb’s, Black Crake, Common Squacco, Black-headed Heron, Pink-backed Pelican, African Fish Eagle etc.
DAY 14: Departure to Kampala.
Today is the last day of our birding safari, we shall have our morning breakfast and later drive to Kampala having a stopover at the Equator monument for photo session and lunch before proceeding to your hotel.
